some basic rules i follow for myself:
🌿 - disclaimer: please follow at your own discresion, i would never ever encourage others to do what i do but these are the least harmful ‘rules’ i can think of
🌿 - we hear it constantly but how many times does it go unpracticed: water water water
🌿 - if you dont normally eat breakfast, its okay to skip it. there is no proof that eating breakfast leads to more or less significant weight loss and i find eating breakfast makes me nauseous and hungry the rest of the day
🌿 - do not eat after 8pm
🌿 - im prone to binging in the evening after restricting all day so ill brush my teeth as soon as i get home as i can not and will not eat after brushing my teeth
🌿 - if you can do it try giving veganism a try. youtube, pinterest and tumblr are all wonderful places to find recipes and inspiration
🌿 - keep. busy. boredom often leads to mindless eating. instead of reaching for chips reach for tumblr or youtube, read or write something, dance, pick up a video game, snuggle your pets, anything to keep you distracted
🌿 - caffeine. i prefer it through coffee. caffeine helps to both boost metabolism and suppress appetite
🌿 - the only liquids you should consume should be water, coffee, tea and zero calorie/diet drinks
🌿 - if youre going to do high carb/low fat, stick with it. if youre going to do high fat/low carb, stick with it. bouncing between the two only leads to erroneous results and you end up giving up
🌿 - for water retention my favorite tip is epsom salt baths. epsom salt baths calm, soothe muscles and draw out loads of exces water weight. one or two fifteen minute soaks a week is good enough
🌿 - take. your. multivitamins.
🌿 - burning food scented or peppermint scented candles can suppress appetite
🌿 - cravings typically last fifteen minutes. set a timer and distract yourself. your craving should have passed by the time the alarm went off but if it hasnt you can allow yourself a couple small bites of what you were craving
🌿 - do not reward yourself with food. you are not a dog
🌿 - try to aim for getting in 10,000 steps a day. this alone without other exercise can lead to all over slimming and toning
🌿 - coke zero is a lifesaver for sweet cravings
🌿 - putting hot spices on food can raise your metabolism, makes you eat slower and can discourage you from eating all together
🌿 - get at least six hours of sleep a night, but no more than ten
🌿 - never work out on an empty stomach, you *will* binge later
🌿 - fast weight loss = fast weight gain. slow and steady is sustainable
